Abstract watercolor

Curves and lines

I've been exploring the serendipitous and transparent flow of watercolor, combined with rigidly organized straight lines. Prints are available here.

Materials

I used a damaged watercolor wash brush for the large ribbons of color in the background. It has a split in the hairs, which leaves a narrow band of watercolor on the edge of each shape.

The lines are drawn in white gel pen, pure liquid watercolor, and gold or pearl acrylic. I used a 3/0 brush and my super steady hand!
